About Uncle Mugs

Rooted in the game.
Driven by the community.

Born and bred in Miami-Dade County, Brian “Uncle Mugs” Gonzalez has been involved in youth, high school, and college sports in Dade County for over 50 years. He played baseball at Miami Coral Park, and in 2008 his youth baseball team won the PONY World Series.

Today, he brings that lifelong passion to the Florida Sports Programming Network and Inside the Park, with a commitment to bringing viewers the best coverage possible and shining a light on local athletes, coaches, and their stories.

For Uncle Mugs, covering sports means helping families and fans feel closer to the game—and giving the next generation a chance to learn how those stories are told.
